June is the first month of the summer season.
The month of June comes from the Roman, or Julian, calendar. June was initially named Iunius. The name either comes from the Roman goddess Juno, wife of Jupiter, or from the word “iuniores”, the Latin word for “younger ones”. In the early Roman calendar June only had 29 days. It was Julius Caesar who added the additional day giving June 30 days.

The Freedom Run 10K kicks off the Fun Fourth Celebration weekend. Come run in honor and support of Military personnel who protect and defend our freedom. Deck yourself out in a patriotic costume and show off your American spirit! Run or walk in honor of our dedicated Military Personnel & Veterans.

Rotary Club of Kernersville 4th of July 5K Run
DESCRIPTION
4th of July 5K Run
The Rotary Club of Kernersville will be hosting the 24th Annual run on Thursday, July 4, 2019. $2300 in prize money paid out to Top 5 Male/Female overall. Trophies to top 3 in age group, starting at 14-under and going to 80-up. Race day registration will be available for $30.00 per runner. Packet pickup will be available on July 3, 2019 at Fleet Feet High Point (2762 NC-68 Unit 111, High Point, NC 27265) from 4-7 PM. We will also have packets available for pickup on Thursday morning (July 4) beginning at 7:30 AM at Pinnacle Bank (211 Broad Street, Kernersville).
